Favre Pays $50K to Resolve Issues
As seems to be his luck, Brett Favre managed to avoid the bigger problem of his purported sexting issue, and rather ends up paying a $50k fine for “failure to cooperate” with the investigation. The league apparently isn’t going to go any further than that. It is sort of a sad end for Favre, who’s last season in the NFL has been rife with controversy, injuries, and the end of his 297 games in a row streak. He spent last night on the sidelines cheering one of his possible replacements as Minnesota took it to the Eagles.
Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange Arrested in London
This story is certainly interesting, not only because of what happened, but because of the differences in the way the media has treated it. Most of the stories, like this from VOA or even this from Al Jazeera, has Wikileaks founder Julian Assange being arrested in London. However, news sources who have been more supportive of the whole Wikileaks situation are playing it differently, like Wired with “Assange to meet with UK police”, suggesting more of a get together over tea rather than an arrest. All of this of course against the background of the Wikileaks archive, password encoded with AES256 so that nobody can read it unless the password is released. An interesting situation to follow.
Iran Claims to be “Nuclear Self-Sufficient”
Iran announced today that they are “nuclear self-sufficient”. What this means in practical terms is that they have been able to produce yellowcake, which is the raw material for enrichment into Nuclear fuel (and possibly weapons grade material as well). According to this AFP story, the announcement may have a lot to do with upcoming talk with world powers on their nuclear program. This AP story says that Iran has “full control” over their fuel making process. Reuters Africa says that Iran is “defiant” leading up to the talks.

Christmas Lights to Music Videos
The Christmas season is upon us, and one of the most beautiful things are the lights and decorations that people put up. Some, of course, will take this to the extreme. One of the most talked about phenomenons of the internet age is the Christmas Lights to Music displays that some people put up. No longer content just to have blinking lights, they move forward with controllers, sync systems, and LED Christmas Lights to make it possible to have massive displays that go in time to the tunes. Some of them use low power FM systems to broadcast the music right to your car or radio so you can see the show and hear the music. Check out Christmas Lights to Music Videos here.
